As a part of the West Virginia University Creative Arts Center, the College of Creative Arts inspires students who desire careers in art, music, and theatre and dance. The College of Creative Arts is a small community of about 800 students, allowing for a small community of artists to learn and thrive with one another.
Artists can major in the following areas: art education, art history, ceramics, foundations, graphic design, intermedia, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. Students will earn a BA, a BFA, or a BFA with teacher certification in art. This division also offers the MFA as well as the MA in Studio Art, Art Education, or Art History. Musicians can work towards a BA in the following areas: composition; strings; percussion; brass/woodwind; music education; vocal, opera, and choir; and jazz. The College of Creative Arts also offers graduate programs in performance, music education, composition, history, and theory along with doctoral programs in performance, conducting, composition, and education. The theatre and dance division of College of Creative Arts offers a BA in theatre, a BFA in puppetry, and both a BA and an MFA in acting and design.
The creative arts are very much alive on this West Virginia college campus. Student artist will find that the dedicated faculty members are excellent resources when it comes to building their own creative careers. A degree from the College of Creative Arts has inspired many student artists to let their dreams take flight.
