Established by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction in 1958, Catawba County Community College is a comprehensive two-year institution of higher learning that's dedicated to the community it serves. Despite an enrollment of only 77 students when it first opened its doors, this North Carolina college has grown in many ways.
Today the school serves, as of the spring of 2007, more than 4,000 students who range in age from less than 18 to 65 and over. With an offering of associate degree, certificate, and diploma programs (as well as career training and continuing education courses) it's no wonder that people from all age groups -- and with different education goals -- find what they need at Catawba County Community College. From industrial technology, music, criminal justice, and early childhood education, to furniture technology, math, sociology, and respiratory therapy, there are courses to appeal to most anyone's interests and goals.
In addition to these courses, ambitious Catawba Valley Community College students who wish to one day transfer to a four-year degree-granting college or university will benefit from the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement. According to this statewide agreement students are assured of an easy transfer of their credits.
