The Career Institute of Health and Technology is a New York based professional allied health and technology training school. The Career Institute of Health and Technology has three locations, in Brooklyn, Rego Park and in Garden City, New York. The Career Institute of Health and Technology was founded in 1988 and was then a computer career-training center in Hempstead, New York.
The Career Institute of Health and Technology has programs available in healthcare, electrical, IT and technology and accounting. In the healthcare programs, the Career Institute of Health and Technology offers diplomas in medical assistant; medical coding and billing; and cardiovascular monitoring. In the electrical technician program, students will study in a classroom environment, as well as studying real-world case studies to gain hands-on knowledge. Students will learn conduit, wiring electrical components, electrical boilers, blueprints and even how to install fiber optics. The IT and technology program offers diplomas in: help desk specialist; IT security specialist; and IT certifications. The accounting program offers a diploma as an accounting specialist. In the auto repair program, students study at their local campuses to become an automotive technician. They then can obtain hands-on experience at the Career Institute of Health and Technology's auto repair shop in Hempstead.
Prospective students enrolling at the Career Institute of Health and Technology must e at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED. There are no other special prerequisites. Students may complete a program in as little as 5-12 months while attending classes full-time. Graduates make an average of $20,00-$85,000 per year in their careers.
