Cape Fear Community College offers small classes, personable college staff and individual assistance for students throughout the course of their studies. As a member of the North Carolina Community College System, Cape Fear Community College focuses on vocational, technical, pre-baccalaureate, literacy education and continuing education programs and services. Sample programs at this North Carolina college include art education, air conditioning, heating and refrigeration technology and hotel and restaurant management.

One way Cape Fear Community College sets itself apart is through its creative use of technology. The North Carolina college's Campus Cruiser portal links all aspects of campus life to create a community environment. This web-based tool provides access to e-mail, campus announcements, message boards, calendars and discussion groups. Cape Fear Community College also offers its tech savvy students WebAdvisor, which is another web-based portal that gives students access to class schedules, online registration, grades, address changes and graduation progress.

The North Carolina college also offers students to earn degrees wholly or in part online. The courses comprise of Internet and telecourse classes, as well as hybrid classes that require students to use participate both online and at designated times on-campus throughout the semester.

This isn't to say that the faculty at Cape Fear Community College isn't readily accessible. The North Carolina college also offers such on campus services as advising, counseling, disability, financial aid, testing and veterans administration.
