Founded in 1876 as a primarily ministerial training college with less than 10 students, Calvin College has grown tremendously to become a diverse institution offers more than 100 programs that lead to Bachelor's degrees. Calvin College's more than 4,000 students are high academic achievers, and study everything from biochemical engineering and computer science, to nursing and music. In addition to being accredited by the Commission on Higher Learning of the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, several of Calvin College's academic programs are additionally accredited for their specific programs.

Over the years, this Christian liberal arts college in Michigan has gained much notoriety for its standard of academic excellence. It has been consistently ranked in U.S. News and World Report as a top liberal arts college, and it is one of only four colleges in the nation to receive a Senator Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization. Averaging a lower tuition rate than most private schools, Calvin College is also ranked in Barron's Best Buys in College Education, as well as The Princeton Review.

At Calvin College, the college experience is much more than academics. Classes are taught mostly by Christian professors, who encourage students to develop a richer understanding of God.
