A young, vibrant university, California State University, San Bernardino is one of the fastest growing universities in California, largely because of its rapidly expanding service area of San Bernardino and Riverside counties, which covers 27,000 square miles -- a territory larger than 10 states in the nation. California State University, San Bernardino's programs in computer science, geographic information and decision sciences, psychology, health, kinesiology, English, public administration, accounting and finance, and many others are all highly regarded. The university is one of the nation's largest teacher-training institutions, and 95 percent of the College of Education's graduates with teaching credentials are employed full-time a year after graduation. Moreover, the College of Education now offers the university's first doctoral program, an Ed.D. in educational leadership. California State University, San Bernardino's extended education programs in business writing and language skills, technology, entrepreneurship and conference management are some of the state's busiest.

California State University, San Bernardino has established an endowment to help undergraduate students who have been foster children to remain successful in college and complete a degree. Funds provide support services, such as additional financial aid, targeted workshops and cultural opportunities for foster youth at the university.
