CALC Institute of Technology has two convenient campus locations in Alton, Illinois and in Fairview Heights, Illinois. CALC Institute of Technology also provides students with a library of resource links offering a diverse range of resources accessible to students.
Employment in many of the professions offered by the CALC Institute of Technology prepares students for professions that are excepted to grow. According to the United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, "medical assistant professions are expected to grow in the year 2006 to 2016 more than 34 percent, which is considered much faster than average". Similarly, according to Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, the employment for computer software engineers is also "expected to grow much faster than average during the years 2006 to 2016".
In addition to the technical programs offered on-campus, students at CALC can take advantage of a diverse range of off-campus activities in the cities of Alton and Fairview Heights. Fairview Heights is located in Southwestern Illinois. The Southwestern Illinois area features numerous museums, parks and lakes and even wineries. Some attractions include St. Peter's Cathedrals, St. Clair County Historical Society Museum, the Black Diamond Vineyards, the hidden Lake Winery and much more. The city of Alton in Illinois also offers beautiful orchards, theaters and attractions like the Alton Symphony Orchestra.
Each program offered at CALC Institute of Technology is comprised of its own unique course load and completion time. For example, the network engineer program is 850 hours, the network specialist program is 550 hours, the medical assistant program is 900 hours and the medical office program is 580 hours.
