Blue Mountain Community College
2411 NW Carden Ave.
Pendleton, OR 97801
Located on 175 acres of sprawling mountainous land, Blue Mountain Community College services approximately 1,500 students per year. Unlike most two-year institutions, Blue Mountain operates on a quarter-semester system, giving students the freedom to take a semester off without falling too far behind. Classes here are taught by education professionals -- not fellows or graduate students -- and all Blue Mountain Community College students can expect to receive one-on-one attention within the classroom. In addition to offering a wide range of associate degree and diploma programs, Blue Mountain also supports a robust distance learning program, giving students the ability to take their studies wherever they need to go. Blue Mountain also supports cooperative agreements with Eastern Oregon University and Treasure Valley Community College. This partnership gives students the option of taking their studies to the next level and completing a bachelor's degree through Blue Mountain's Pendleton campus.
In addition to offering degree and diploma programs, Blue Mountain Community College also provides continuing education courses for the general public. Courses are held in Athena-Weston, Boardman, Echo, Helix, Heppner, Hermiston, Ione, Irrigon, Lexington, Milton-Freewater, Stanfield, Umatilla, and as well as on the main Pendleton campus, giving a broad range of students access to professional workshops and personal development courses.
Blue Mountain Community College also supports a lively campus atmosphere. The Betty Feves Memorial Gallery hosts visual art exhibits by both student and professional artists and the Pioneer Hall Theatre plays host to a wide array of musical, theatrical, and dance performances throughout the year.
To unwind after class, students are free to use the on campus fitness center which houses racquetball courts, weight rooms, a 25-meter heated swimming pool, and total fitness gym. Athletes who would rather break a sweat on the field have their choice of five competitive intercollegiate sports teams (in basketball, volleyball, softball, rodeo, and baseball).
