Bishop's University is a small predominantly undergraduate university offering a liberal education through eight bachelor's and master's degree programs. BU was founded in 1843 and was associated with the Church of England before being reconstituted as a nondenominational university in 1847. About 1,800 full-time students enroll at Bishop's University. Many live on campus in one of seven residence halls--Norton, Pollack, Mackinnon, Abbott, Kuehner, Munster and Paterson--each with its own unique physical characteristics and culture.

The Williams School of Business and Economics offers two degree options--a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts with the choice of majoring in either business or economics--a co-op program, and opportunities to study abroad in one of 20 countries to develop an international perspective about business. The co-op program allows students to combine academic work with full-time work experience.

Bishop's University athletic teams compete in the Quebec Student Sports Federation. BU students participate in football, men's and women's basketball, women's soccer, men's and women's rugby, men's and women's alpine skiing and men's golf. There are also intramural and recreational sports programs. The main athletics facility is the John H. Price Sports and Recreation Centre, which features a double gymnasium, a six-lane, 25-meter pool, squash courts and space for gymnastics, combatives, aerobics, fitness, weight training and indoor runnings.
