Founded in 1945, Berklee College of Music is the world's largest independent music college. Accredited by New England Association of Schools and Colleges, this Boston music college trains students to excel in a music career. Berklee College alumni include producers Quincy Jones and J.R. Rotem; musicians John Mayer, Bruce Hornsby, Rivers Cuomo, and Melissa Etheridge; and animator Trey Parker.

The academic program at Berklee College of Music is founded on jazz and popular music rooted in the African cultural diaspora. Berklee College of Music offers a dozen majors leading to a bachelor's degree, including Jazz Composition, Music Therapy, Film Scoring, Performance, and Songwriting. Two-year certificates are also available upon request.

Students at Berklee College of Music can participate in more than 50 organizations on campus, including club sports, cultural and religious groups, and community service. The campus dining hall hosts nightly student performances and parties. Students also have access to discounted or free memberships at local fitness facilities.
