Berkeley Digital Film Institute is a digital filmmaking program for students interested in becoming producers and directors in the film, television, commercials and music video industries. In addition to the digital film production course, several specializations are offered, including documentary production, environmental documentary production, commercials production and music video production.
The 16-month program at Berkeley Digital Film Institute is hands-on, with each student producing and directing nine movies ranging in length from one minute to 30 minutes. Students must enroll in the school full-time.
The facility at Berkeley Digital Film Institute includes a 5.1 surround sound Dolby re-recording theater. Called The Saul Zaentz Media Center, it has been used for more than 200 major motion pictures.
