Bellevue Community College is one of the Washington community colleges that offer students the opportunity to complete certificate programs in a short amount of time. The continuing education program at Bellevue Community College helps those who want to go back to school or start over get the education they need to continue along their dream. Bellevue Community College began classes at its temporary location at Newport Senior High School in January 1966, with only 464 students. The main campus opened in the Fall of 1969.

Bellevue Community College is the third largest institution of higher education of Washington community colleges and other universities, enrolling over 19,000 students per quarter. Bellevue Community College sends more transfer students to four-year schools than any other Washington community college. At the same time, Bellevue Community College allows its students the largest and most diverse of Continuing Education courses throughout the state of Washington.

Continuing education classes are available at various locations throughout the Eastside. Bellevue Community College continuing education provides educational offerings primarily for adult learners. However, there are specific cases that allow younger students admission, depending on the guidelines of the course. Each class at Bellevue Community College can be considered on a case-by-case basis.
