Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology is one of the nation's largest veterinary technician schools. Students can earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology.

Located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains on two and a half acres, Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology has classrooms, laboratories, treatment and surgery rooms in addition to a large-animal facility and stables. There are also two off-campus training facilities which center on health care of horses, farm practices and large animal training.

Most Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology graduates complete the 125-credit hour program in two years. Classes include medical terminology, technical writing, chemistry, veterinary science, anatomy, anesthesiology and more.

Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association.

  • During the last quarter of the program, students are required to participate in a 10-week internship. Students can intern in a variety of places, such as zoos, animal hospitals and research facilities.
