Escanaba, MI 49829

Located in the heart of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Bay de Noc Community College, or Bay College, as it's more commonly known, has been serving students for more than 40 years. The college aims to give students the necessary skills to enter the work force, serve the community and transfer to four-year programs.

Bay College, which spans two campuses, offers transfer degree programs in criminal justice, nursing and water technology. The Michigan college also is home to the first Michigan Technical Education Center to open in the state. The center provides a variety of customized and technical skill training and professional development opportunities.

Partnerships with various four-year schools allow students to take classes towards a bachelor's degree on the Michigan college's Escanaba campus. In addition to having the option of attending courses traditionally or online, Bay College also offers its students the option of living on campus.

Enrollment at the Michigan college is so strong that in 2003, Bay College officials approved a five-year lease of a 20,000 square foot facility to create the new Awest Campus, which offers an additional eight classrooms, a computer lab, a lecture hall, office space and a lounge/cafeteria/commons area for students and staff. What's more, thanks to a donation of land, a new 66,500 square foot space will allow Bay College to expand its programs and services to accommodate up to 1,200 new students.
