The Baptist Medical Center South Glenn E. Vickrey School of Diagnostic Ultrasound offers 12-month general ultrasound program that provides quality education for graduates of an accredited six-month allied health education program that is patient-care related.
The curriculum at Baptist Medical Center School of Diagnostic Ultrasound includes didactic and clinical training in abdominal sonography, obstetrics and gynecological studies, small parts, and ultrasound physics and instrumentation. The rigorous and well-rounded program will give you the technical, clinical and interpersonal skills necessary to succeed in this challenging field.
The program is named for local businessman Glenn E. Vickrey. For many years, Mrs. Vickrey desired to create a trust to honor the memory of her husband. The couple's grandsons, Ray and Craig Wilson, were the inspiration for the decision to select the Baptist Health School of Diagnostic Ultrasound as the main benefactor of the trust. Both graduated from Pensacola Junior College and Florida Institute of Ultrasound and have careers in this field.
