The Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin (AOMA) boasts a faculty of seasoned practitioners dedicated to Oriental medicine and student success and a balanced curriculum. AOMA was founded in 1993 as the Texas Acupuncture Institute and has graduated the highest number of licensed acupuncturists in the state of Texas.
The Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine program compares and contrasts the principles, diagnostic methods and procedures of biomedicine and Oriental medicine. Students of AOMA learn to tackle health problems at their roots with a gentle medical approach in a warm, friendly environment. Small class sizes mean personalized attention that instills confidence in students.
At AOMA students have the unique opportunity of beginning clinical training in the first-term. After familiarizing themselves with the flow of the acupuncture treatment, students at Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin continue their clinical training by observing treatments in clinical theaters and participating in instructor-led discussions before moving on to work in the student clinic.
