Art Academy of Cincinnati

Art Academy of Cincinnati
1212 Jackson Street
Cincinnati, Ohio 45202

The Art Academy of Cincinnati began as a museum school over 100 years ago. The small, independent art and design college enrolls about 200 students in five degree programs: three bachelor's of fine arts (in fine arts, communication arts and art history); an associate of science in graphic design; and a master's degree in art education.

The art academy is located in Cincinnati, a city of approximately two million people with a supportive art community that includes the Contemporary Arts Center, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Aronoff Center for the Arts, two Omnimax Theaters, the Contemporary Dance Theater, the Carnegie Art Center in Northern Kentucky, the Cincinnati Opera and the Cincinnati Ballet Company, along with many museums, galleries and studios. The Cincinnati Art Museum, one of the country's largest museums, is also a close neighbor.

The Communication Arts program helps students develop strong visual communication skills, research experience and refined verbal and oral communication skills as they master the tools and media necessary to thrive in careers in graphic design, illustration, photo design and multimedia design. Advanced courses use internships, an in-house design service and client-based assignments to expose students to real-world working experience.
