With two campuses in Portland and Lewiston, Maine, Andover College offers a wide range of career-focused associate degree and certificate programs in applied science since 1967. In 1970, Andover was accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Association of Independent Colleges and Schools and in 1998, Andover College was the first school of its in kind in Maine to be receive accredition by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. In 2004, Andover opened its Lewiston campus and enrolled its first class. Kaplan Higher Education Corporation purchased Andover College in 2005 to be a part of its Kaplan Higher Education Campuses (KHEC) division, a U.S. Department of Education approved higher educational institution that has more than 68,000 students enrolled in schools across the United States and abroad.

Andover College seeks to develop students skills by offering academic, professional, and personal growth opportunities through comprehensive educational programs. They offer an Associate of applied science and certificate program in business, education, health care, legal studies, and travel and hospitality management. They offer day and night classes so that individuals can integrate education while still working at their current jobs. Some programs offer externships to give students practical experience while they are working toward a degree. Another resource is the faculty who use their experience as professionals in their field to offer useful insights and tips on achieving professional goals.

Andover offers financial aid assistance with Federal Pell Grants, Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFEL) subsidized and unsubsidized loans, and work-study programs. Assisting students meet their career goals is a focus of the college and their career services office offers assistance in teaching individuals how to write professional cover letters, resumes, and conduct job searches. Andover has a rolling admissions policy but applicants must possess a high school diploma, GED, or Home Study certificate.
