American College of Education is a coeducational, proprietary college that has partnered with public school districts across the nation to improve student performance by enhancing teacher effectiveness. ACE was founded in 2005 when it acquired the assets of Barat College, formerly part of the DePaul University system. Accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, the academic program at the American College of Education combines accelerated online learning, field experience, and clinical practice.

The American College of Education offers two degrees at the master's level. Students in the Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction program enhance their knowledge of curriculum design, innovative instruction, and assessment. The Master of Education in Educational Leadership prepares students for administrative and supervisory positions in public schools. Students who have completed the Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction may also pursue a dual degree in Educational Leadership by completing six additional courses.
