The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) is a center located in Washington D.C. that promotes and educates on the ideals of freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Formed in 1990, the American Center for Law and Justice was established to educate and work for the American family and to protect their constitutional rights. The American Center for Law and Justice was founded by Jay Sekulow in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Sekulow is a seasoned attorney and an advocate for religious freedom in the United States. He has served as a faculty member at the Office of Legal Education for the United States Department of Justice. Sekulow taught United States Attorneys in the legal realm of prosecuting obscenity cases.

Since the establishment of the American Center for Law and Justice, Sekulow, who is also Chief Counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice, has argued cases in front of the federal district court level to the Supreme Court of the United States. Among the cases he's argued in front of the Supreme Court was protecting: free speech of pro-life demonstrators; the constitutional rights of religious groups to have equal access to public facilities; rights of public school students so they may conduct religious studies on campus; minors and their free speech rights in the public setting. In addition to the religious based work it does, the American Center for Law and Justice also protects the rights of citizens to engage in political and patriotic expression, including the Pledge of Allegiance and the national motto; and constitutional law as it pertains to national security, marriage, judicial nominations and pornography. Sekulow views the American Center for Law and Justice as the counterweight to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). He is proud of the labels "evangelical" and "Christian legal advocate."

Sekulow has a daily national talk radio show that is broadcast throughout the country on nearly 850 stations. The Trinity Broadcasting Network and FamilyNet also televises his weekly television show, "ACLJ This Week." Sekulow received his Bachelor's degree from Mercer University, where he also earned his law degree. He earned a doctorate degree from Regent University and is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Supreme Court Historical Society.
