Students can attend full- or part-time, in class or online -- whichever route you choose, this Texas college's motto remains the same: accessibility is key.

Alvin Community College moved to its present campus in Alvin in the summer of 1963, where it now offers diverse programs in broadcast communications, diagnostic cardiovascular sonography, and process technology. Students who wish to continue on to a four-year university have easy access to Texas colleges thanks Alvin Community College's partnerships with select universities, including Sam Houston State University, Texas Southern University and the University of Texas.

Since Alvin Community College believes college life should be more than academics, the Texas college offers campus clubs and organizations for students to get involved in. The school believes such programs provide students an opportunity to gain leadership skill, meet new people and provide a service to the college and the community.

To help its students put those skills to the test in the workforce, Alvin Community College offers such services as advising and testing and career planning and job placement. For the surrounding community, Alvin Community College offers heart/vein scans, massage therapy and adventures for kids, allowing students to put into practice the skill they're learning in the classroom.
