Located in Port St. Lucie, Florida, the Alpha Institute of the Treasure Coast, Inc. conducts diploma programs in massage therapy and facial specialty. This Florida school is designed for students who are seeking careers in the fields of holistic healthcare and cosmetology. The Alpha Institute offers quality, short-term programs, which yield the skills and experience required for such careers.

Aspiring massage therapists wishing to be licensed in the state of Florida must successfully complete the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork Exam for massage therapy. Students who desire careers in Florida as facial or body wrap specialists need to pass the Florida state exams for facial specialist and body wrap. The Alpha Institute of the Treasure Coast, Inc. counts it among its many objectives to equip students with the ability to pass these exams. Successful graduates of the Florida school may find themselves employed by hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, sports teams, resorts, gyms, hotels, spas, cruise ships, chiropractors, salons, and many other places of business. Students may also end up going into business for themselves.

The Alpha Institute is divided into two major program titles: massage therapy and facial specialist. The massage therapy program totals 500 clock hours, 150 of which are devoted to lab work and 350 to theory. After some experience, massage therapy students are required to perform at least 78 clinical service hours, during which they will be assessed for their customer service quality as well as their technical performance. Students will also study various methods and techniques, such as Swedish massage therapy and hydrotherapy.

The facial specialist program at the Alpha Institute adopts a holistic view of skin care, teaching a range of skills from make-up artistry to the treatment of chronic skin disorders. The clock hours for the facial specialist program total 400, with 230 of these hours devoted to theoretical learning and 170 devoted to lab work. As with massage therapy, there is also a requirement for performing clinical services, which in this case comes to 60 hours.
