Located in Southern California's San Gabriel Valley, Alhambra Medical University provides pragmatic education programs for the practice of integrative and holistic healthcare. AMU seeks to helps its students meet their educational objectives. This California medical university is committed to training future professionals who will ultimately become valuable members of the country's healthcare system. Alhambra Medical University currently offers two major schools: the Asian medicine program and the Asian bodywork certificate program.

The Asian medicine program conducts a four-year education process culminating in a master of science in Asian medicine. The degree is conferred after 3,160 hours of training have been satisfactorily performed. Exams are held before and during the program's clinical portion. An all-inclusive exam is given prior to graduation. This program combines Asian medicine with Western science and emphasizes the acquisition of skills over an acquaintanceship with subjects. Students receive intensive educations in Asian medical theory, Western medicine and science, practice management and ethics, herbology, acupuncture, qi gong, tui na, and tai ji.

The Asian bodywork certificate program teaches the effective practice of massage therapy in the Asian style. This program has two separate divisions. One, the Asian bodywork technician concentration, requires 350 hours of training. The other, the Asian bodywork therapist concentration, requires 650 hours. Graduates of the latter division have the opportunity to take the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork's national certificate examination.
