Algoma University College established in 1964, offers more than 30 undergraduate degree programs in a diverse range of areas. Some include english, film and theatre, philosophy, fine arts studies, law and justice and more. Algoma University College is an affiliate college of Laurentian University, which gives students the ability to study on the Algoma campus, while graduating with a degree from Laurentian University.

Algoma is located in the city of Sault Ste, Marie Ontario. The campus is located near the Great Lakes and offers numerous state-of-the-art facilities for students to take advantage of. Some include the Arthur A. Wishart Library, offering more than 85,000 volumes of books, more that 9,000 electronic journals, numerous databases and much more. Others include a 36,000-square foot Information Communication Technology Building, student center and state-of-the-art dormitory style student residences.

Men's and women's basketball is offered as well as many intramural sports including squash, dodgeball and more. Additionally there are a diverse range of student clubs and organizations at Algoma including the History Society, Geography/Environmental Club, Food For Thought, the Nordic Club and many more.

Although Algoma University is home to over 1,200 students, students can still take advantage of smaller class sizes with an average student faculty ratio of 13 to one. Students can also benefit from the many unique programs offered at Algoma University College. The study abroad program and the exchange program for example give students the opportunity to study in a diverse range of countries such as Australia, Finland and Japan. Algoma University also offers a graduate program in computer games technology through the University of Abertay Dundee in Scotland. Students in this program have the opportunity to apply for an exciting and substantial post-graduate Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council scholarship offered through Algoma as well.
