Albany Technical College is a professional technical school located in Albany, Georgia. Albany Technical College was founded in 1961 as the Monroe Area Vocational-Technical School. The school merged in 1971 with the Albany Area Vocational-Technical School. The school was granted permission to offer associate degrees in 1988. Albany Technical Institute became Albany Technical College in 2000. Today, the Albany Technical College is a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia and enrolls over 3,000 full-time students each quarter. Another 2,500 students attend the school part-time, or participate in workshops and continuing education.

Students at Albany Technical College can earn a certificate, diploma or an associate degree. Albany Technical College provides a wide variety of evening and online programs from which to choose, including: accounting; air conditioning; automotive and diesel; business; commercial truck driving; computer systems application; construction; cosmetology; culinary arts; dental assisting; drafting; early childcare and education; electronics; firefighter/EMT; health care; horticulture; hotel/restaurant/tourism management; law enforcement; management; manufacturing and industrial; marketing; medical assisting; medical office; pharmacy technology; practical nursing; printing and graphics technology; radiologic technology; surgical technology; and welding. Additionally, Albany Technical College offers over 100 programs in which students can enroll full-time.

Albany Technical College offers services to seven counties in Georgia and has adult learning centers in each county. Prospective students wishing to apply to Albany Technical College must be at least 16-18 years old, depending on the program; students must have a diploma or GED prior to graduating from one of the diploma or certificate programs and for students wishing to enroll in associate degree programs, must also take proficiency exams.
