The Aesthetics Institute provides students with the next step in beauty education as they build on the basics of aesthetic skills. All AI curriculum satisfies the basics required by the State of Oregon Department of Education and then builds on to those basics, turning out competent, talented beauty professionals.
Courses at the Aesthetics Institute include nail technology, esthetics and electrology. The nail technology course instructs students to improve the health of their client's nails and recognized healthy nails and skin as well as possible nail and skin disorders. AI students become skilled in using the latest nail technology while following proper sanitation and safety procedures to protect both themselves and their clients. The esthetics course is designed to help the skin care specialist learn a wide range of services to keep the skin healthy, attractive and pleasing. Aesthetics Institute students are taught the fundamentals of skin care, anatomy/physiology and the structure and function of the skin. They will become acquainted with the latest methods of massage, cleansing, the use of machines, analysis of the skin and also be introduced to many skin care products. The electrology course is a 600-hour course that includes 235 hours of theory and 365 hours of practical experience.
