Ridge Creek School utilizes an individualized approach to allow for intensive study for remediation as well as enrichment. RCS students have the opportunity to earn their high school diploma. 100% of our high school graduates are accepted into a college. The combination of personalized study, integrated curriculum, and academic support provides our students with a solid academic foundation for the rest of their lives.

Our modern 210 acre campus is situated within the beautiful north Georgia Mountains, surrounded on three sides by National Forest, with many varied outdoor activities. Located in the heart of the campus is a 14 acre crystal clear stocked lake offering fishing and canoeing. Students have a wide variety of campus recreational activities, from wilderness experiences to many off campus activities, advantaging the local and Atlanta community events. There are also many Clubs and Organizations in which students may participate.

Although most of our students struggle with issues of Oppositional Defiant Disorder, we treat all of our students' needs with specialized attention. Ridge Creek School offers a strong therapeutic curriculum, coupled with specialized "adjunct" therapeutic services which address other clinical issues such as; addictive, compulsive and self-destructive behaviors. While supported in a caring, loving environment, students are taught the lessons of healthy living. During the course of the therapeutic program at RCS, students move through sequentially planned counseling segments. Each segments introduces concepts that are crucial to the student's personal development and success. Each student participates in individual as well as group therapy.

RCS is a member of the AAC (Atlanta Athletic Conference). The AAC offers a competitive program aligned with other private schools. Students also participate in GISA (Georgia Independent School Association), league allowing competition at the regional and state levels. All students, regardless of their physical abilities, or past athletic experience are encouraged to participate in the RCS sports program. Students who never dreamed they could be part of a sports team excel and find new confidence in themselves. Students learn the fundamentals while developing teamwork and communication skills. They develop self-confidence with the emphasis placed on achieving personal goals.

RIDGE CREEK SCHOOL students participate in experiential education and outdoor leadership activities each weekend beginning Friday after group counseling through Sunday evening. These activities combine intensive cognitive-based therapeutic work with wilderness training and adventure. Examples of trips include: rock climbing, canoeing, land navigation, rappelling, mountaineering, caving, wilderness first aid and CPR training, etc.

Through these challenges, we develop team work and camaraderie among the students, an enhanced self-concept, and foster individual leadership skills. At the end of each activity the students have an innate sense of accomplishment. Students learn personal responsibility, and with it a sense of achievement, and a desire to make an effort to improve their lives.
