North American Fees At GLCHS, every effort is made to keep costs affordable for parents and students. Parents who choose GLCHS think of Christian education as an investment in their child's future. 2009-2010 Fees Tuition $7,100 Room and Board (5 day) $5,100 Room and Board (7 day) $6,750 Additional Fees Additional costs for items such as uniforms, textbook deposit, and non-resident health insurance can be expected.
International Fees GLCHS is an affordable residential school with an excellent reputation for working with international students for nearly 40 years. 2009-2010 Fees International Tuition $13,850 Tuition and 5-Day Room and Board $18,950 Tuition and 7-Day Room and Board $20,600 Tuition and 7-Day Deluxe Room and Board $22,600 Additional Fees Additional costs for items such as uniforms, textbook deposit, airport pick-up and non-resident health insurance can be expected. Custodian International students are required to have a custodian (previously referred to as "guardian") living in Ontario. Many students have custodians in Toronto or Hamilton. Custodians can help students with banking and paperwork, represent the parents at parent-teacher interviews and provide communication between the school and non-English speaking parents, if the Custodian is fluent in the parents lanquage. Custodians offer a comfortable home stay during holidays.
Academics At Great Lakes Christian High School we care about your academic success. We offer small class sizes, a highly qualified teaching staff and a supportive learning environment. Teachers are readily available outside of class time to help you meet your academic potential. Planning to attend university? Last year, our university acceptance rate was over 90%-that's over 20% above the provincial rate of acceptance. Heading to community college? We offer many applied and M-level courses leading to college acceptance. Don't know what to do after high school? Check out our co-op program that offers valuable experience in the work place. Students can explore career options through placements in local businesses, services and schools. Athletics Athletic teams at GLCHS compete in two leagues: OCSSAA, the Ontario Christian Schools Athletic Association for tournament play and SOSSAA, Zone 4, the Southern Ontario Secondary School Athletics Association for season play. GLCHS has supported students in competition at the provincial level. Athletic Awards Top Male and Female Athletes are honoured each year with the Doreen Ellis award. Sportsmanship is valued through the awarding of the Craddock Sportsmanship Award. Students can earn an Athletic Letter through participation in athletic activities including team play, scorekeeping, time keeping and team management. Spiritual Life Encountering God in all that you do is central to life at GLCHS.
