That’s what the Georgetown Center on Education and the Workforce is calling young adults in its latest report, “Failure to Launch: Structural Shift and the New Lost Generation.” The gist of the study is that it’s taking people longer to get settled into their careers than ever before, while older adults are working longer.

Because of  a variety of factors including the economy, unemployment rates, and changing expectations of education and skills levels, the age at which young workers reach the median wage has increased from 26 to 30.
