College – U. Got It?

Welcome to The CollegeBound Network

On the 12th day of Christmas, The CollegeBound Network gave to me…

12 LOADS OF LAUNDRY

You know who has a knack for procrastination? College students. And you know what has a way of piling up on procrastinating college students? Laundry. (What, were you expecting 12 drummers drumming?)

Get this: I actually enjoy doing laundry. It’s such a neat and tidy task. Maybe I like it because except for the actual folding and putting away of clothes, I don’t have to actually do anything–the machine and the detergent do all the work for me. Now, I could see how awkward it would be if college students had to pull out the washboard and bucket in their dorm rooms, but since they don’t, there’s nothing really to complain about.

Part of the beauty of college life is learning how to take care of yourself while you study for your degree. That includes eating nutritious food (most of the time), showering (preferably on a daily basis), getting enough sleep (naps help), and keeping your room somewhat clean. Believe me, there is nothing worse than walking into a dorm room and being overwhelmed by the stale odor emanating from a pile of unclean clothing stashed under your bed. Especially if you are an athlete–ugh.

So now that the holidays are over, it’s time to put those resolutions in motion and start the new year off right. If you are a college-bound student, keep up your grades. If you are a college student, get ready to tackle that second semester. Good things are ahead for us all this year, and clean clothes are just the start.
