We're so sorry to hear of your loss. It would appear that you are indeed eligible, but since we are not the sponsors of the scholarship, you will have to contact the program directly to confirm your eligibility.

My father was murdered when I was 4 years old. My mom has been a single mother and has raised me on her own. I wanting to enroll in a Junior college then transfer to a 4 years college. Would I be eligible to apply for this scholarship?

Hi Maggie. I'm sorry for your loss. Growing up without your birth parents would seem to me to make you eligible for this scholarship, but you can certainly check directly with the program. Good luck!

Good question, Krystal. We suggest emailing or calling the LIFE Foundation and asking them directly http://www.lifehappens.org/contact-us

Vicki, as per LIFE's website, it seems that they have not announced a new scholarship deadline as yet. Why not bookmark their website, http://www.lifehappens.org/vote, so that you can check in to see when the new deadline is approaching. Best of luck!

My name is Vicki Talton. My husband Scott and I had 5 children. In May of 2008 my husband retired from Pasadena Independent School District after 34 years of teaching and he also was the head basketball coach at Dobie High School for 27 years. We have 4 girls and one son. On Feruary 19th 2009 as we were painting the inside of our house, he had a rare heart attack and passed away instantly. Our youngest child Scotty was away at A&M starting his freshman year. My husband was only 59 years old, and to this day life without him is very hard. After having 5 children we could really never afford life insurance so getting my son through college is a struggle, but I am trying my best to do this. Can you tell me when is the next date I can apply for a scholarship for my son? I see it has closed for now. Please let me know thank you for your time
