Students Won’t Lie: They Plagiarize
cbnetwork | December 10, 2008
According to good ol’ Einstein, everything is relative. That might explain why, despite the fact that cheating amongst high schoolers is on the rise, the vast majority of teens still reports that they’re satisfied with their individual ethics.
In fact, according to The Josephson Institute — an ethics institute in Los Angeles, California — 64 percent of high school students in the United States have cheated on a test, and 38 percent have cheated more than once during their school careers. To make matters worse, 36 percent admit to plagiarizing their assignments with help from the Internet and 93 percent of all students say that they’re perfectly happy with their ethics — or should we say, lack thereof.
For a more in-depth look at how teens have seen their ethics drop, and the methodology involved in the survey, check out Yahoo!’s article on the matter.
